My best friend Marijo Swick is a huge fan of Gene Wilder and Willy Wonka.
So for her birthday and my first attempt at a decorative cake, I decided to create this cartoon character of Mr. Wilder as Willy Wonka.
Willy Wonka is made from a 9×13 cake for the face & the bottom part of the hat , a 9×9 for the top of the hat and a mini cupcake for the nose. With the trimmed off pieces from the 9×13 I cut strips to make the brim of the hat stand out, and I placed the mini cupcake in the middle of the face for the nose.
